News from the Farm : 4th Annual Eastern Triangle Farm Tour Posted 9/15/2009 For the fourth year Hilltop Farms will join 20 other sustainable farms in the four county area of Wake, Durham, Johnston and Franklin Counties for the Carolina Farm Stewardship Association's farm tour! It is being held the weekend of September 19th and 20th. This weekend! Your carload can tour all of the farms you want for just the cost of $25 (in advance). Entrance buttons can be found at www.carolinafarmstewards.org., any area Wholefoods or at Harmony Farms on the corner of Creedmore and Milbrook Roads. Buttons can also be purchased at any of the farms the day of the tours for $30. The farms are open for visitors both Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM each day. This is one of the biggest fundraisers for this great organization that wants to show you where your food comes from, who grows it and how it is grown! There are all kinds of farms to visit including organic produce, poultry, beef, honey, herbs, sheep, goats, rabbits, mushrooms, urban chickens and even a vineyard! I bet most of them will have products you can buy, as I know we will. Check our availability section to the left to see what you can bring home for dinner! Hope to see you..... Down on the farm!!
