I'm sorry and grateful at the same time to say that Hilltop Farms' CSA is full for the 2007 season! We will not be able to take on anymore members at this time. If you have already emailed us and recieved the 2007 membership form back, please go ahead and send it in. We would like to sincerely thank everyone that signed on this year and put their trust in us to help feed their family for the next six months. We will work very hard to ensure the success of the harvest and to supply an abundance of delicious, wholesome food for your table. However, for those still looking for a local certified organic source of fruits and vegetables, our farmstand here at the farm will be open on Saturday mornings to the general public. In late April we will open for strawberries, we pick or you pick, when the season begins. We also plan to have enough veggies to sell to the non-members who drop by all through the season, after our CSA members get their share. Times to be announced later. Also, as always, you can find some of our items at Harmony Farms in Raleigh. They are on the corner of Creedmore and Millbrook Roads. We also sell product through Eastern Carolina Organics who distribute our stuff and much more from over 30 organic farmers all over the state to Wholefoods, and restaurants everywhere. Ask you favorite chef if they buy from ECO! May is a great time to book a farm tour for your school, church, or civic group or maybe just for your family and friends. You can learn about organic farming methods, pick fresh strawberries and even tour Virginia's horse barn and get a pony ride for the kids. The cost during strawberry season is $10 per person (3 yrs old and up) and includes a u-pic quart of organic strawberrires! This year we are featuring our our new Farm School that will allow kids to go into our "practice field" and plant their own seeds or seedling that we provide. They can even plant their own seed in a cup to take back home and watch it grow. Its a chance for the kids of all ages to get their hands dirty and learn some valuble life lessons all at the same time!
Thanks again to all 2007 members and.......
God Bless!
